Research and Development Organization (IRDO) is a registered Kenyan NGO with a
head office in Kisumu and regional offices in ten counties.
IRDO’s
principal mandate is to design, implement and evaluate HIV/AIDS research and
intervention programs that improve the health status of individuals and local
communities.
Resource Mobilization Coordinator
Job Summary: To take lead in collecting relevant information for the development of concept notes, research and program proposals as per the guidelines of various calls for proposals.
Key Roles
and Responsibilities:
- Support
in writing concept notes and proposals to secure funding for program and
research work from donor organizations as well as other agencies.
- Develop
comprehensive database of potential donors, multi-lateral and bilateral
agencies and initiate contact development.
- Come
up with very innovative ideas, strategies, & events for fundraising;
and develop resource mobilization plans.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Social / Behavioural Sciences, Development Studies, Community
Health and any other related fields.
- At
least 2 years experience with institutional fundraising with reputed donor
organizations and other agencies.
- Relevant
experience with writing concept papers and proposals
- Excellent
public relations skills; and able to easily build rapport with individuals
and groups; as well as strong networking skills.
- Working
knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint.
We are

Position
summary: Reporting
to the Director, the Research Manager will lead or support research protocol
development and manuscript writing and directly oversee all research studies
under IRDO, including compliance with good clinical practices.
Key
responsibilities:
- Oversee
implementation of research studies, including provision of ongoing review
of study activities
- Ensure
studies are conducted in compliance with good clinical, laboratory and
community practices
- Prepare
monthly reports for all active studies and submit to the supervisor and
sponsor/donor
- Oversee
timely IRB processes as well as approvals from relevant government
entities
- Identify
grant opportunities and lead/support preparation of applications
- Lead
manuscript preparation and submissions, including supporting data analysis
Minimum qualifications:
- PhD
in a relevant field and MPH in Epidemiology or Biostatistics from a
university with a strong research profile
- At
least 5 years coordinating multiple research studies in a major research
organization
- At
least 5 publications in referred journals, with at least 1 as the first
author.
- Evidence
of having written at least one winning grant proposal
- Ability
to conduct data analysis – quantitative and/or qualitative – strongly
encouraged.
- Excellent
computer literacy and community skills

Qualitative
Data Analyst
Job summary: Reporting to the Head of Research, the holder of this position will support qualitative analysis of ongoing research data.

S/he will
also take leadership in research using qualitative methods such as Focus
Groups, In-depth interviews, Key Informant Interviews, Ethnography, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree in Social Sciences with evidence of advanced training in data analysis;
Master’s degree an added advantage
- Knowledge
of qualitative data analysis methodology; at least 2 years’ experience
with qualitative data analysis
- Strong
communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency
with at least one qualitative software
- Co-author
of at least 2 publications in a peer refereed journal
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist
in the design and development of research projects, specifically
qualitative research methodology, tools development and implementation
- Train
research assistants and enumerators on collecting and transcribing
qualitative data
- Supervise
fieldwork as required
- Analyze
qualitative data using softwares such as Atlas.ti, NVivo, etc
