Job
Purpose: The ASRH
Specialist post is located in the UNFPA Kenya Country Office and reports to the
Deputy Representative.
The ASRH
Specialist substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA
activities in the areas of Reproductive Health and Gender Equality with an
emphasis on integrated Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH)
including prevention of HIV and AIDS and mainstreaming of young people’s issues
throughout the programme.
S/he
oversees programme formulation, implementation and evaluation, joint
programming initiatives and national development frameworks.
S/he leads
the programme team in providing technical advice and support to the Ministry of
Health, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and collaborates with the
Country Office’s operations and administrative support staff.
S/he
oversees the achievement of programme results by ensuring appropriate policies
and procedures are applied by programme team, and appropriate monitoring and
oversight mechanisms and systems are established and implemented.
Duration: One year, renewable subject
to funding and satisfactory performance
