Job
Description
- As the Head of
Laundry at our hospital’s laundry operations. You will be responsible for
ensuring that our healthcare facility maintains a clean, safe, and
sanitary environment for patients, staffs, and visitors.
Key
Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
- Provide
leadership and direction to the laundry team, including supervisors and
staff.
- Develop and
implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective
laundry operations.
- Train, mentor,
and evaluate laundry staff to maintain high standards of performance.
Operational
Management:
- Plan and
coordinate laundry schedules to meet the needs of various hospital
departments.
- Monitor inventory
levels and order supplies as needed to ensure uninterrupted laundry
services.
- Oversee the
maintenance and repair of laundry equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Quality
Control:
- Implement quality
control measures to ensure that all laundry meets established standards
for cleanliness and hygiene.
- Conduct regular
inspections of laundry facilities and equipment to identify and address
any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with
infection control and environmental services teams to maintain a hygienic
laundry environment.
Compliance
and Safety:
- Ensure compliance
with all relevant regulations and standards governing laundry operations
in healthcare settings.
- Promote and
enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the laundry
department.
- Maintain accurate
records and documentation related to laundry processes and procedures.
Cost
Management:
- Develop and
manage the laundry department budget, including labor, supplies, and
equipment expenses.
- Identify
opportunities for cost savings and process improvements without
compromising quality or safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
in a relevant field (e.g. Hospitality Management, Business Administration)
is an added advantage.
- Proven experience
in laundry operations management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership
and team-building skills.
- Excellent
organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of
laundry equipment and processes.
- Familiarity with
relevant regulations and standards.
- Ability to work
effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
